European SuCCeS Project

As part of the INTERREG V ALCOTRA France-Italy (2014-2020) programme,
the Saint-Paul de Vence Tourist Office joined forces with the Municipality of both Saint-Paul de Vence and Ceresole d’Alba on the SuCCeS Project,
taking the pathways of the Battle of Ceresole to find new ways of enhancing cultural heritage and promoting sustainable tourism.

Here are the main stages of this project from October 2017 to November 2020.

Looking back at the launch day on the 8th December 2017 in Saint-Paul de Vence

The public launch of a collaborative project is always a memorable moment not only in the life of the project but also in terms of strengthening ties between the partners.
The launch day cemented the very first official gathering between the Italian contingency and the Steering Committee and enabled bonds of friendship and trust to be created, bonds that will go on to develop and deepen over time as the project advances. A 100-strong delegation of elected officials, professionals, locals and school children from Ceresole came to Saint-Paul de Vence on this auspicious day.

Four different landscape segments form a single pathway that highlights the natural and cultural value of the area at the base of the ramparts.

Six “discovery” or interpretive signs describing the bastioned enclosure will be installed below the ramparts. Informative signage and a heritage trail will be dotted through the village – 18 displays in all.
