SAINT-PAUL DE VENCE INTERNATIONAL BIENNIAL
From 26th June to 2nd October 2021
18 artists from the young international scene // Numerous multidisciplinary events // 3 months of exhibitions in the public space
Under the presidency of Olivier Kaeppelin and curated by Catherine Issert, Saint-Paul de Vence will host the second edition of the Saint-Paul de Vence International Biennial this summer, from 26 June to 2 October 2021. Focusing on young creation and the diversity of the new artistic scene, this second edition will present works by 18 artists of all nationalities, selected by a jury of professionals from the art world. Punctuated by numerous highlights, with the aim of reaching out to all audiences, the Biennial will feature an exceptional programme of contemporary art and will take over the public spaces of the village.
The mediators also invite you to meet them at 4pm from Monday to Saturday for a guided tour of the route (free access). Meet in front of the Tourist Office.
This new edition of the Biennial will be devoted to young artists, to the relationship between the site of Saint-Paul de Vence, its architecture, its geography, its light and its inhabitants, as well as to sharing, to the pedagogy around the works of art, and to the importance of their role in the public space. "For this new edition, we wanted to focus on the emerging art scene, which takes us back to the best hours of Saint-Paul de Vence, which welcomed so many creators and diverse practices. In this Mediterranean region with its unique topography and history, we will present works that question art and the world today, a world in crisis, in search of meaning", comments Catherine Issert.
The 2nd Saint-Paul de Vence International Biennial will present works by Awena Cozannet, Martine Feipel & Jean Bechameil, Stéphane Guiran, Gonzalo Lebrija, Quentin Lefranc, Charles le Hyaric, Kokou Ferdinand Makouvia, Juliette Minchin, Aurélie Pétrel, Florian Pugnaire & David Raffini, Stefan Rinck, Kevin Rouillard, Linda Sanchez, Pierre-Alexandre Savriacouty, Scenocosme, Elodie Seguin, Charlotte Vander Borght and Delphine Wibaux.
The course is open to the public and free to enter from 26 June to 2 October 2021.
Also to be discovered, the Parcours des Galeries de Saint-Paul de Vence "One gallery - One artist". Each gallery will present a visual artist of its choice, which it will highlight throughout the Biennial.
