Exhibition "ANDRÉE PUTMAN & THE CREATORS OF THE MOUVEMENT MODERNE"

EXHIBITION "ANDRÉE PUTMAN & THE MODERN MOVEMENT"
AT THE FONDATION CAB
From 22 March to 29 October 2023

Fondation CAB Saint-Paul de Vence is for the first time hosting an exhibition from the the villa Noailles off-site programme, dedicated to the rediscovery work led by the French designer Andrée Putman (1925 – 2013), who passed away ten years ago.

This exclusive exhibition will pay tribute to this “great lady of design” who brought to light an entire forgotten side of the history of the Modern Movement and his most prominent architects, whose productions she preserved, promoted, and showcased. These pioneer artists were supported and collected by a few highbrow patrons, among which were the Viscount and Viscountess of Noailles, a rare example of aristocrats whose destiny was intimately tied with the history of the avant-garde. This year, on the occasion of the Centenary of the villa Noailles, this exhibition designed by her daughter will invite us to rediscover exclusive works and archives, and to pay tribute to Andrée Putman and the creators of the Modern Movement who paved the way for our contemporary ways of living a century ago.
